Inspired by Chocolate and Cakes

Thank you for clicking over from Michelle's amazing cakes websites, to see who helped her create the new design. Or perhaps you've landed here via a search, or via a Press Release - however you found this page, welcome!!

I was thrilled to be able to help Michelle put her vision into words - her original website was becoming unmanageable, and there needed to be more automation and creation of cool technology to keep her website visitors happy.

Together Michelle and I covered her original website site and design, look and feel and then worked out where to go from there.

The new features implemented are:

• a state-of-the-art Content Management System (BAWT CMS) which allows the website owner 24 hour access to tweak their site to their heart's content; no more trying to learn HTML or having to visit the forums and read for hours working out how to implement a simple change
• site-wide widgets to showcase new features:
  • automated Newsletter sign up
  • powerful search engine
  • News & Q's Module - Michelle's news updates and answers to questions
  • My Favourite Cake of the Month
  • incorporation of Michelle's Wordpress blog via news feed
  • Testimonials Module - highlights testimonials received from happy customers and clients, and managed according to Category - Birthday, Anniversary, etc
• Related Pages section to show other pages related to the page being visited
• Michelle's YouTube Video Channel, showing all videos made by Michelle
• Comments feature allowing site visitors to send Comments to Michelle via the Comments Module (where moderation can be done before the Comments are live)
• Recently Updated list at the bottom of each page
• Advertising page to encourage advertisers
• Statistics software to track website visitors, keywords used to find the sites, unique visitor counts and much more
• RSS feed
• submission to major Search Engines
• Google Webmaster Account and Google Analytics Account (invaluable for additional important statistics)
• Submission of .xml file to ensure the Search Engines have the most up-to-date list of new webpages.

All of these features are possible due to the technology available in the Content Management System and Michelle can now quickly add news, or update pages or photos, whenever she has a few minutes.

The system is so easy to use and learn, that Michelle has taken to it very quickly and now loves tweaking her website. I provide many BAWT CMS Video Tutorials for clients to show them each step they need to take when working on their websites. If something comes up for which there is no video - I make one as quickly as possible :-)

How long did it take?

From backup of original site of 240+ pages, moving to a new hosting space, transferring the domain, to setting up the new BAWT CMS website and launch took approximately 4 weeks. We wanted to test everything thoroughly and make sure all the site-wide widgets, features and enhancements worked well.

Further tweaks and enhancements continue now the new site is live, as small changes are made here and there.

What about search engine optimisation (SEO)?

Michelle already has a lot of knowledge about keywords and SEO, and I am happy to provide additional information as and when required. Michelle's site is doing amazingly well in the search engines after a relatively short time online - just a few years - and receives around 2,000 unique visitors per day.

I'm very proud to say Michelle is one very happy client :-) - and an absolute delight to work with!
