Why every website needs a Facebook Fan Page
If you're wondering why every website needs a Facebook Fan Page, you're in good company :-)
Most small business folks just don't "get it" when it comes to Facebook, and I was one of them until a short while ago.
All I'd heard was what I didn't want to hear - "friending" people, oohing and ahhing over friends-of-friends' photos, knowing way to much about way too many people.
And then I started listening to the marketing geniuses online
I got intrigued. I read their reports. I watched their videos. And then it CLICKED.
Having a Fan Page for your business makes total sense!
It was totally different from Twitter, email, newsletters, and websites.
It connected people in a totally different way.
And I started to see the beauty of its simplicity for my businesses :-)
Here are some statements found online:
From tech gurus Mashable: "With 450 million users globally (and millions more being added each week) Facebook is dominating the web in unparalleled ways. Yet, even as the social network has steadily grown over its short but remarkable history, many brands have remained on the sidelines of the social media revolution."
I created a fan page for this website - BuildAWebsiteTonight.com - and added a Facebook button and icons to the site, for example the blue button you can see here - go on, click it :-)
Here's an example of one of my Fan Pages (and yes, you can have more than one, to target specific visitors):
So, WIIFM? (What's in it for me?)
- Thousands, millions of potential customers can search for and find you on Facebook - yes it's just like a big search engine, only different from Google.
- It's a way to get your business/passion products and services in front of a jazillion eyes who would not normally ever hear about you ...
- and it's F-R-E-E :-)
