What do I do now my website has launched?

If you're looking for a list of things to do now your website has launched, try these - each tip will help you ensure your website is found by those hungry search engine robots.

Let's look at the easiest things first:

Creating links back to your site.

This is called "backlinks".

Each time you post your website link (also called URL) somewhere else on the internet, it creates a link back to your website. Think of these links as votes for your site, so if you have lots of relevant links (notice I said "relevant"), it's like getting lots of votes for your site.

When the search engine robots find these links and follow them, they land on your website and check to see if the link was relevant, and if it is, then your website gets points awarded to it. No, nobody know how this point system works, it just does :-)

You can create links by :

  1. creating pages on free website locations, writing a few paragraphs of relevant information, and providing a link back to A PAGE on your website
  2. writing informative comments and posts on other blogs, forums, on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn

OK, let's get started!
