What's included in the Monthly Maintenance and Hosting Fee?
The Monthly Maintenance and Hosting Fee covers two important requirements for my Clients:
Hosting of their website (where all the website pages live on a computer called a "server")
and a Maintenance Fee which allows one-on-one website support each month.
There are 3 levels:
Level 1 - $50.00 per month
Level 2 - $65.00 per month
Level 3 - $75.00 per month
Level 1 Monthly Maintenance and Hosting Fee
For clients with small websites and normal amounts of internet traffic.
Level 2 Monthly Maintenance and Hosting Fee
For clients with larger corporate websites and robust amounts of internet traffic.
Level 3 Monthly Maintenance and Hosting Fee
For clients with e-commerce websites running on databases which promote large amounts of internet traffic and processing power.
Individual One-on-one Assistance for You
Folks ask me why my hosting fees seem higher than those they might pay for hosting their website with companies like GoDaddy, and the simple answer is that with my hosting you receive top level support - one-on-one - with someone who is willing to build a relationship with you and care about your business and website as much as you do. Hosting companies provide support for hosting, not websites.
How much monthly support is included?
Clients receive half an hour (30 minutes) of my time each month to help them with their site, via phone, Support Ticket or Skype (free video phone calls via your computer), where I answer questions or do quick updates on the website as required.
Additional Support time can be scheduled ahead of time, and paid in advance at $100.00 per hour.
Please note: The 30 minutes is non-accumulative and does not roll over from month to month.
Why provide support in this way?
Quite often my clients just want to pick up the phone or create a Support Ticket with a quick question.
With my hosting plans they can do that and get my undivided attention. I also provide 20-30 video tutorials for clients within their website dashboard which they can watch at any time 24/7, and they know they can call me if they get stuck or need to ask a quick question.
My clients have let me know that they like to know that I 'know' their business website, and they know they'll always be able to speak with me, rather than an anonymous person overseas.
If I'm going through a launch of any kind, I let me clients know in advance that my response time might be slightly longer than normal.
In comparison ...
The majority of hosting companies offer support for hosting issues - not website issues - as that's not their business. When you sign up for hosting with one of these many companies you may get excellent support for your questions about hosting ... but not about your website software. It all depends on what YOU really need.
Are there other options to pay for hosting?
For Level 1 website Clients I have introduced a $20.00 Monthly Hosting Fee (paid in advance or by the month) whereby Clients can schedule Support time with me in advance as required @ $100.00 per hour (can also be in two blocks of 30 minutes). This way my clients know up-front how much time they've paid for and exactly what the cost is.
How are payments made?
If you live in Australia, you can set up an automated Direct Debit payment with your bank; I will provide my banking details.
If you live overseas or prefer to pay with credit cards, you can make payments using my Make Payments page.
You can also sign up on the Make Payments page for automated credit card payments.
When should the first monthly payment be made?
The first thing I do when I have a new website client is create a new Hosting Account where I can install all the software and files.
This happens on the very first day, so the Hosting needs to be set up in order for me to install the software.
Once the Hosting is in place, you can send a Support Ticket or call me to let me know the payment's been made. As soon as the funds clear, I create the account and we're all set :-)
Skype is software which you download onto your computer for free, and we can than schedule Skype calls as part of your Support.
