My business has a similar name to a product offered by GoDaddy.com

I regularly get emails from people trying to login, or trying to lodge a complaint, so I do my best to help them. Today I received an email and I thought I'd post it on my site to help others in future.

Question

A few years ago, I built a website through Website Tonight, with the domain name removed.for.privacy.com

Now, I am unable to log in and make any changes to this website. Also, the contact information is not working. I am being charged to maintain this domain, so are you able to help me with this? Thank you.

Thanks for dropping by my site. Your Domain and WebsiteTonight purchase were with a different company called GoDaddy.com - so to help you out I just popped over to your site, and on the home page I can see the email name to contact on your webpage at -- removed.for.privacy.com

If you no longer use this email name, you will need to gain access to be able to change your details.  So I checked with domain WHOIS to see which email name is being used on your domain:  here's the link http://whois.domaintools.com

All I can find on that page is that the owner's details are protected.

What you'll need to do next is go back to the original company - http://GoDaddy.com

I have located the login page here:

http://GoDaddy.com - in the top right hand corner is a button for "My Account" - click this.

On this page you will find a link:

• Help me retrieve my password.

Click this link to get your password sent to you - but it will get emailed to the original email name you used.

If this doesn't help, their phone number should be in the top right corner of the screen, and it looks like you can reach them 24 hrs a day.

I'm sorry I can't help further - but as you haven't purchased your domain or website through my company, that's as much as I can do.
