Taking a snapshot of my computer screen is something I do every day - for one reason or another - and it's very easy.

For Windows Users

I have found an easy-to-follow video for Windows users to see how to capture the computer screen as a snapshot or screenshot, then you simly save it as an image (jpg etc) and attach to an email:

For Mac Users

I prefer Macs but I can use both platforms with ease. This video shows you 3 ways to take snapshots of your Mac screen - I use the second option (Apple-Shift-4) for so many things during the day, as I can select a portion of the screen. Try them all and work out which option works best for you, and maybe you'll use all three :-)
