Email Settings for your own Domain

Each website will have unique settings, so when you login to your cPanel hosting you can find the settings for your email accounts. With these you can set up your email software on your computer:

  • login to your cPanel - type http://your-domain-name.com/cpanel
  • select "Email Accounts", you will be taken to a new page
  • scroll down to "Current Accounts"
  • locate the name of the email account you'd like to set up
  • to the right of the email name you will see several icons
  • click the icon named "Configure Mail Client", you will be taken to a new page
  • the first paragraph says:

When accessing an email account through a desktop email application such as Outlook Express®, the email application will require specific information about that email account.
You can use the auto-configure options below to attempt to automatically configure your email application.
If the available options are not compatible with your application, you will need to use the Manual Settings information to configure the application

  • the Manual Settings are at the bottom of the page, scroll down and you will see information which looks like this:

Settings for Incoming Ports

Additional settings for the correct incoming ports :

  • 110 for POP3
  • 143 for IMAP

Please Note:

Mail Server Username: this will be whatever is in your email name BEFORE the @ symbol - then a PLUS symbol - then your domain name WITHOUT http or www information. An example is:

teena@whateverthewebsitenameis.com

becomes:  teena+whateverthewebsitenameis.com
